Atrocious spelling, for instance.
I wouldn't call one misspelled word atrocious, more like a buzzed oversight.

Took shots? What happened to the slotted spoon, the sugar cube, and the reservoir glass?
Probably the non opiate American version they sell that's just high proof and disgusting.
Thujone isn't an opiate though. And in any event, there's not enough thujone in *any* absinthe sold anywhere in the world to cause psychoactive effects. What was referred to as "absinthism" at the turn of the 20th century was nothing but plain old drunkenness and alcoholism. Absinthe suffered because of the people who drank it--artists and writers and other bohemians.
Turn-of-the-20th-century "hipsters" were drinking absinthe, riding penny-farthing "fixies", and sporting waxed mustaches before my grandparents were born.
The whole ritual is just for fun, it's not really required.
Im 100% sure that is not the real absinthe
