• Patty? Are there actually men known as Patty?! Pat maybe, but Isn't Patty usually short for Patricia? The day is known in Ireland as Paddy's day. Paddy is a derivative of Padraic which is the Irish version of the name Patrick, and since he's the patron saint of Ireland, it seems "Paddy's day" makes more sense...
