  • The Amish do use generators-by law they need to keep their milk refrigerated so they have to use generators. Could have been Pennsylvania Dutch too.

  • I'm Amish. They were either protesting the gas stations or looking at how many hot girls pass by.

  • Blaaah... the Amish aren't against using technology, they just believe they have to hold themselves separate to stay Godly... it has nothing to do with electricity or thinking it's evil or something.

  • 5:18, you figured it out

Submitted by Anonymous on Aug 22, 09 at 6:10pm
  • One word: generators. Those run on gas. The Amish are against electricity, but something tells me that generators might be a gray area for them. And yeah, they could well have been Mennonites, they look very similar. I saw some Mennonites shopping in Walmart once. What a mindfuck that was!!

  • They obviously aren't realllly Amish! It's like all those crappy movies... What you encountered was a family in the witness protection program. Duh.

  • 1:47 Thank god somebody else explained this. I would never have managed it so well. I live in Dauphin, not as many Amish here, but we have our run-ins, especially trying to travel. It seems like they're everywhere. I saw, like, 15 Mennonites in the mall once. I was startled. Some Amish do hire drivers for long trips. Could be that.

  • If you were from the 440 you would not be surprised to see the Amish at gas stations it's very common to see this there driver could be filling the van or something. They have to keep the lanterns on somehow
