A UTI is not a type of STD. Was she pissed from embarassment, or did she think he "caught it" from someone? Urinary tract infections are not sexually trasmitted.
UTIs can be caused by several different things so for the love of your vag/cock read up on it.Everyone is saying UTIs are no big deal because they only think(or are aware of) the non-sexual causes some STDs can present themselves as UTIs. STDs can either be bacterial or viral infections most of which can effect the urinary tract.

It is an unintentional pun. It is not an STD but it is similar. Think about it like this...if you told a girl you had ED (erectile dysfunction) would you want her asking the whole room what an ED is? I think not...and you would be pissed.
UTIs are kind of embarassing I mean you wouldn't want a room full of people knowing you had one. You usually get them from having sex and not peeing after so the germs sit in your vagina. Maybe it's a girl thing. I don't think this is a pun..
