If you don't like abortion, you don't have to get one. But don't presume to make someone else's medical decisions for them.

I hear you, 11:23, but when your opponents aren't educated beyond scripture, it's important not to discount it. My family are pretty hardcore Baptists and sent my sister away for being a lesbian and blamed a girl that was molested by one of our neighbor's sons for being impure, a lot of bad stuff. I feel like I need to use my familiarity to balance the craziness, even as a deist.

10:51 sorry, but this is the real world. People have sex, whether it's for pleasure or reproduction. No one should be judged based on that. I think you should be a little more concerned with your own life, rather than putting more pressure on people who have that choice to make. I had an abortion when I was 17, and it was the hardest decision of my life, but I made the right choice.

Abortion IS murder, and a fetus is a baby. At 16 weeks, the baby (yes baby, not fetus) has a face, can suck his/her fingers, stretch (there are 3D ultrasounds that make it possible to see. Spend some time around a pregnant woman who wants her baby and can feel it move - would you be able to tell her that it's ok to kill her baby? That it's not a person, just a 'fetus'?

Also, in Leviticus 27:1-7, where it assigns worth to the genders based on shekels of silver, children aren't even counted until the age of five. In Numbers 3:15-16, children aren't even counted until one month after birth. I'm a biblical scholar who knows scripture forwards and back as well as ancient Greek. You're going to lose this argument badly if you continue. Abortion is a mature, responsible choice.

I'm prolife and I almost didn't exist. My mom was 16 years old when he got pregnant and 17 when I was born. It hasn't been the easiest, but Christ, I'm glad I am alive. And not all prolife people are defending it b/c they can't keep frm gettig pregnant cause they want more brainwashed children. Personally, I don't want kids. Ever. Prochoice people are just as biased as prolife people. It isn't all one way or the other.

Pro-lifers will never win. You've given your voices to misogynist men and religious fundamentalists and collectively opposed the very things proven to reduce the need for abortion. The political party you've chosen wasn't always so fond of government involvement. And women don't like risking their lives for a fetal parasite. So sad.

I have a coworker who can't remember to take the pill and doesn't like using condoms (with her spouse, she's not a whore), so if she gets pregnant she just gets an abortion like it's no big deal at all. She's had 4 in the last couple years. I think that's ridiculous and irresponsible.

No the baby might not, but the point is that I will give you or anyone the right to do whatever they want with their lives, but when you bring another human life into the picture, you have no right to end that life just because it fits the way you want to live

Psalm 127:3 "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward" "life begins at the moment of conception" is what the priest teaches. and what christians believe. its ultimately your choice. no one can decide for you. my opinion is that if you have a good enough reason then go ahead.

There is a difference between voicing your beliefs and telling people what's right. When you believe in something, you should be well aware that it is a BELIEF. There is no right or wrong, and should acknowledge that not everyone feels the same way.

4:04 & 4:06, it was on the news last spring that Obama was signing a bill to either make it illegal for a doctor to refuse to perform abortions or the bill would revoke some of the protections that doctors have. It wasn't for medically necessary abortions, and even privately funded Catholic hospitals would have to perform abortions. Maybe he didn't actually sign it and was only considering. I haven't heard anything about it since then.

I look at abortion the sane way I look at miser and the death penalty: there is no one on this earth who is deemed worthy of choosing when a life should be ended. And yes, a fetus is a child. It grows and develops every day just as a newborn baby, toddler, adolesent does

A man cannot take over a woman's uterus. That's why he doesn't get a say. It's not his health at risk carrying a baby for nine months. He doesn't deal with kidney problems, heart trouble, spiking blood pressure, gestational diabetes, etc.

Sorry to break it up like that, but TFLN was not allowing me to submit the full text. You obviously have this preconceived image of selfish and irresponsible women with double standards getting abortions. You have no idea of the reality of it. It has been proven that countries with legal abortion have the lowest rates, whereas countries with highly restrictive laws often have the highest, like Brazil. You have approached the debate without any relevant points.

"i get what pro choice is saying. but have some respect for people of different religions and beliefs. seriously now." tolerating other beliefs makes you pro-choice, if you believe i have a right to my own as well. it doesn't mean you would ever have an abortion yourself.

Doctors should be able to decide if they do abortions or not. If they don't believe in abortion they shouldn't be forced to perform them. Instead they could refer the patient to a dr. who will do it. And also refer the patient to a place that may inform her of all her choices.

Ok so the one thing is why is it just the womans choice? Last I knew she didn't make that baby on her own and what is the father wanted to raise it and pay for the procedures? But no it's all up to the woman according to many. But if it were born then the father would have to pay child support even if he wanted an abortion. And why is it that if a woman is walking to get an abortion and gets hit by a car it's still a double homicide?

And the pro-choice idiots who think discarded/swallowed sperm and a girl having her period is the same as an abortion, are you serious? I sure hope not. That's ignorant, and yet pro-choicers call pro-lifers ignorant?

Well, you've aligned yourself with a movement that doesn't support those things, 11:05. And they're taking rights away from women who decide to keep their pregnancies. You can be prolife as a pro-choicer, so that's your fault for not understanding the difference.

Solely out of emotion? You're the side saying you don't want to call a baby a fetus. I've seen a lot of passion from prochoicers, but all their statements are logical. Prolifers ignore every consequence - environmental sustainability, a woman's health, the reality of adoption, etc. - in their responses. They make up statistics. They ignore science and history.
