    He should have slipped in something like "aside from you" or "I see you surround yourself with people almost as attractive as you are" and maybe would have gotten something out of it

    I really don't think lines like this should be taken personally, and here's why: I doubt the dude meant that she was prettier than you. Who is he with, anyway? Was he trying to get with her rather than you? If THAT was the case, it would be different. Plus, I would be totally offended if my fiance DIDNT want to fuck my best friend, personally. She's gorgeous and he better recognize.
