Actually, fever blisters are caused by the herpes simplex virus. There are two types of herpes simplex virus. Type 1 usually causes oral herpes, or fever blisters. Type 2 usually causes genital herpes.
About ten percent of oral herpes infections (fever blisters) in adults result from oral genital sex with a person who has active genital herpes (type two)

this is from a pharmacist: much more likely that its bein used for a pre-cancerous lesion or mole then genital warts because its very expensive...now if you find an rx for valtrex or a cream called zovirax- RUN!
zovirax and valtrax are for herpes. Type 1, Type 2 doesn't matter. And neither is curable, idiot, both can be treated to lessen the time of outbreaks. Once you are infected you have the virus in your system for life. Call it cold sore, fever blister, whatever it is herpes.
